graffiti,

Vous êtes des animaux

A biological affirmation found on a wall in Saarbrücken

bridge

Graffiti and bridge

Yet another bridge across the Saar - this time a rail bridge, I think.

Twenty-first century fresco

The artist who created the pencil-lover character (2010-07-19) has now developed a new style.

beetle, graffiti

Beetle graffiti

More from the ever-changing graffiti mile on the banks of the Saar. I would have liked to have captured all of the beetle's snout, but another centimetre backwards and I would have ended up in the middle of yesterday's picture.

graffiti,

Trainspotting

This is from the banks of the Saar, where graffiti spraying is condoned, if not actually officially encouraged (2009-03-21). I cannot really do this character justice with my phone camera. I have to take the shots from the other side of the Saar and crop them. But I thought I had to record him for public record before he gets sprayed over. He appears four times and in each scene is equally rapturous about the object in his hand, which we assume must be a pencil.

barn, graffiti

Ramshackle shed

This shed is just behind the train in 2009-11-24. It looked so wonderfully dilapidated, I had to get to the other side of the railway lines and take a shot.

graffiti, tubes

Communicating with the Underworld

I was not sure what these were. I guess they are ventilation shafts. But, I was sure I had to photograph them.

Graffiti tower

This tower is to be found on the towpath along the Saar. It seemed so typical of Saarbrücken — a colourful, dilapidated building in the middle of idyllic green. I have no idea what it was used for. It is actually located near yesterday's bridge. Perhaps, it is the tower to nowhere.

stairs, concrete, graffiti

Angular momentum

Stairs from the Westspange bridge leading to down the Bürgerpark (Citizen's park) — more used by graffiti sprayers than pedestrians.

Endless iron and graffiti: a bridge across the Saar next to the iron works.

Click the photo to get a larger version and see the rust in its glorious detail.

Endless graffiti: More from the graffiti wall opposite the Staden park area on the Saar (2009-03-21, 2009-03-11, 2009-01-04).

Apocalypse on the Saar: There is a stretch of concrete underneath the autobahn next to the River Saar that is free game for graffiti writers. It happens to be opposite the most popular park area in Saarbrücken, so the artists are guaranteed a public with time to gaze. The grafiti spraying is done quite openly. It must be officially sanctioned. In fact, the scene above looks so good, I wonder if it was even officially sponsored.
