Perfect views over Germany and France. This sign is in German, probabĺy from a period when Alsace was under German control.

Evening panorama
As indicated in the previous photo, I was surprised to step out of miles of forest to see this vista. In fact, looking up the location on Google maps, I am even more surprised. At the time of the Google satellite pictures, the valley was still being mined. The other surprise is that I was unknowingly standing on the frontier. The viewing platform is German, but all the valley is French.

Sea of trees: a view from Dahn castle that is on the edge of the Pfälzer Wald, the largest forest in Germany.

Zig-zag panorama: it was a hazy morning but there were still some fine views to be had from the Schwarzenberg Tower. This in the view in the direction of Eschberg.

View from Rabbit Hill: 85% of the area of Saarbrücken has not been built upon. Around 50% of that is woodland.
