Celtic face #1
There is currently a major exhibition on Celts in the old ironworks in Völklingen. Saarland is located in an area which was at the core of the La Tène Celtic culture and many traces from that time have been unearthed here. As for the exhibition, the images of faces are what I found the most fascinating.

Rusting arches
The Völklingen ironworks is a most imposing structure, especially when lit up at night. These arches are one of its most distincitve features and lend it a cathedral-like quality.

Pollack in the ironworks
To celebrate the opening of the Pompidou Centre in nearby Metz, replicas of some of the paintings are hanging in the old ironworks in Völklingen.

This is another site in Burbach, where an old iron factory is being redeveloped as offices and warehouses.
