  1. I was discussing this very problem with the neighbour yesterday ... timber homes like we both have are lovely but they do require a lot of maintenance. I'm hoping our latest paint job will last a few more years.

  2. Hm, we do not have that many wood paneled buildings in Germany - and surely not that big ones. What is it?

  3. Old wood houses may require upkeep, but I wouldn't trade this for vinyl siding EVER!

  5. Thanks for the comments.

Joan Elizabeth: Obviously, the Saarländer have not found a solution to the problem.

Martina: It is part of the campus library complex, I think. They are constructing a new building next to it. So, it could be due for replacement or renewal. And yes, it is unusual ─ more so in this case, as there are hardly any windows, just endless peeling planks.

    Andreea: Mulţumesc.

Don and Krise: Some of the old stone houses have plastic cladding in the villages here. It must have been the fashion a few decades ago. It looks awful.

Sonia. Al final en la luz hay una entrada.

  6. I like the aspect too. Not often that I contemplate vertical perspective ...
