I was discussing this very problem with the neighbour yesterday ... timber homes like we both have are lovely but they do require a lot of maintenance. I'm hoping our latest paint job will last a few more years.
Joan Elizabeth: Obviously, the Saarländer have not found a solution to the problem.
Martina: It is part of the campus library complex, I think. They are constructing a new building next to it. So, it could be due for replacement or renewal. And yes, it is unusual ─ more so in this case, as there are hardly any windows, just endless peeling planks.

Don and Krise: Some of the old stone houses have plastic cladding in the villages here. It must have been the fashion a few decades ago. It looks awful.
