Spider cabin
This particular arachnid is to be found on the banks of the Saar. I keep imagining it will use its legs to wander off, but it always seems to be in the same place. I think it serves some function to do with controlling traffic on the river.

umm ... cute I guess covers it!
ReplyDeleteReally interesting, have you manage to get inside?
ReplyDeleteHave a reat weekend:)
The area seems potentially threatened by flood waters. Quite smart to build the house on legs...
ReplyDeleteInteresting...if a little ugly! I can imagine kids would like it as a sort of semi-treehouse!
ReplyDeleteCould be in a SF movie from the 70's ...
ReplyDeleteI love your text on this :) I would love to see it walk!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments.
ReplyDeletejoo: no, I have not been inside and I am not sure I dare — if you click for the large version, you will see that the floor is in a state of severe disrepair.
Buenos Aires Photoblog: good point, although in the worst years that still would not have saved it.
tapirgal: this weekend there is a Summer of Science event in town with lots of robots. Now if they could put their skils to making this walk, that would make an even more impressive show.
I like the different shape of this cabin. I bet it's design inside is very unique.
ReplyDeleteDenise Jelonek: it would be nice to think so but my bet is that it is standard government issue desks.
