  2. I'm not sure what it is, but it's very unusual. A square peg in a round hole?
    Cheers.

  4. I'm with the others, it looks intriguing. I've searched google for Stengel and found only German pages; from what I could gather - and that wasn't much :) - was that he probably built the beautiful building in the background (is that right? ).

  8. Thanks for the comments.

Julie: Thanks. I, too, liked the way the snow made everything white and brown.

BlossomFlowerGirl: It is explains the monument in French, German and English. Lots of monuments in Saarland have a big placard with information. But only really special monuments in Saarbrücken get a metal cube.

joo: It is the most elegant square we have in Saarbrücken.

Andreea: I apologise for not putting up more information. However, if you had used the search box at the top of this page, you would have got some English results. Friedrich-Joachim Stengel created all the wonderful baroque buildings in Saarbrücken.

    Cezar and Léia: Obrigado.

Martina: You think we should have put up something more baroque?

arabesque: You like the cube. I actually rotated the metal bit in the middle, so that you could appreciate it in all its cubic glory.
