Intrigued by this, and I am wondering how it works. Does the sun reach a certain spot on the slab at the solstice? Hmmmmm no I definitely can't work it out.
@Jenny Woolf It was a cloudy day so I did not really figure it out. I did notice that the semi-circle of stones you can just see in the background functioned as a sundial. But I could see nothing to cast a shadow on the hour marking stones. Perhaps the viewers themselves cast their shadows.
