mannheim, rosengarten

Lights in the rose garden

I try to keep the photos in my blog local to Saarbrücken and surrounding area. This shot is some 130km away in Mannheim. It is still, I think, a valid photo for the blog, as Mannheim is to some extent Saarbrücken's link into the wider world. It is the closest big city and represents the crossroads to the major rail and road traffic arteries that run along the Rhine.

  4. Auch in anderen Städten kannst du sehr schöne Fotos machen. Schön, das die Laternen schon beleuchtet sind, dadurch ist es sehr stimmungsvoll.

  8. Thank you for the reminder of the great time I had there so many years ago. We visited that exact park and I took a portrait (that I have here in my office at the moment actually) of a drunkard " der Mannheimer" laying on one of the benches! Sure is a beautiful spot in the summertime.

  10. It's beautiful and I don't mind it being from Mannheim. A little detour is always good, in my experience it brings up nice surprises.
