graffiti, tubes

Communicating with the Underworld

I was not sure what these were. I guess they are ventilation shafts. But, I was sure I had to photograph them.

  1. Next time you hear someone say this country is "going down the tubes" you'll know where it went.

  3. I'm glad you felt the need to photograph them, I find them extremely amusing ... like the pipes have their mouths wide open yelling. As for the artwork, they'd look quite dull without it.

  4. Interesting. I think your ventilation shafts is a good guess, but I've never seen intake shafts with this shape. Very cool.

  6. I would guess: climate control unit exhausts of a university building, department of physics or something - they look the same everywhere ;-), eh, the buildings.

  8. Interesting find! They look like three long robot fingers, half-buried.

  9. I can quite understand the need to photograph them. They look like sentinels standing guard duty.

  10. AB, this photo is haunting me, not kidding, ;-)
School was my first idea but then I thought schools usually don't have elaborate climate control thingies ... . Haunting because since this posting I am wondering about this 70's style of "Waschbetonfassaden" and if I am right that this is a only-German style ...
