Thanks you guys for the positive comments on my mud. I think Abe Lincoln got it right. This was probably the result of heavy rain followed by a several days of sunshine. As you might see, at the time of the photo the sky was overcast and an hour later thunder was heard and the skies opened with a torrential downpour - which I made an attempt to capture.
Great close-up, almost feel and smell the texture of the cracked ground! Greetings from MC.
