This statue is located in Striring-Wendel. The steel magnate did much for the town and the workers in his factories, and thus the town bears his name (Charles de Wendel - French Wikipedia).

On the path beside the Saar from Saarbrücken to Sarreguemines there is no sign telling you that you have crossed from one country to another. But, by the time you see these railings, it is clear: only the French could put up something so purple and so wavy.
